Special to The PREVIEW

The 21st annual Auction for the Animals is right around the corner. If you are a local, a summer resident or even a visitor, this is the summer event you don’t want to miss. Everyone knows how fun and important this annual fundraiser is for the Humane Society of Pagosa Springs.

This year’s event will be held on Friday, Aug. 21, at the Ross Aragon Community Center. The evening will feature a sumptuous dinner. Best of all, dinner will be served by our own Pagosa Springs High School cheerleaders, assisted by Pagosa Springs Youth Center members. Beer, wine and soft drinks will also be available for purchase.

This special event is a wonderful way to help the dogs and cats in our community’s only animal shelter and a great way to have a fun-filled and entertaining night, too. Live music will be provided by Tim Sullivan during dinner and the silent auction, and professional auctioneer Ken Kincaid will once again handle the rousing live auction portion of the evening.

The Humane Society is very fortunate to have wonderful supporters and donors, both locally and from afar, so some fabulous items have already been donated. Here is just a sampling of the items available this year:
