The Weminuche Audubon Society (WAS) will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 19, in the Ross Aragon Community Center dining room starting with setup at 6 p.m. The meeting itself will start at 6:30 p.m.

Audubon Rockies is partnering with the Nature Conservancy and the Gunnison Climate Working Group on a project that builds simple rock structures to restore alpine wet meadows and riparian areas across the Gunnison Basin. Audubon’s role is to monitor the response of breeding birds to the restoration work.

Becky Gillette, senior educator with Audubon Rockies, will present a slide show and bird songs recorded during the June monitoring season and she will also discuss the art of Birding By Ear in the Sagebrush Steppe.
