July, August happenings at the Senior Center

Posted

The Picnic in the Park last week was very successful, with 70 people in attendance.

The food was delicious and the music, performed by one of our seniors, Jack Collinsworth, was awesome. We also had a “goofy golf” game. Everyone had a great time.

Our next and last picnic for this season is on Friday, Aug. 15.

On Saturday, Aug. 23, a group of our seniors is going to Creede for a fun day to watch “Annie Get Your Gun” at the theater there. Then, on Friday, Aug. 29, a sightseeing tour with lunch is scheduled for Ghost Ranch, near Abiquiu, N.M.

Remember that these ASI special trips are at a reduced price, are on a “first-come, first-served basis,” and must be prepaid. Please check and confirm that your name is on the list as we can only accommodate a limited number.

Francilla Ehrig from the San Juan Basin Health Department will be at the Senior Center to perform screenings to check cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose, etc. She will be at the center on Tuesday, Aug. 5. She will be rescreening every three months.
