GECKO’s (Giving Every Child Knowledge of the Outdoors) Doggy Dash and Dawdle was held in bright sunshine, finally heralding the start of the summer season in Pagosa Springs.

In only its second year, the event attracted double the amount of people and dogs from last year, with over 75 participants and their furry friends participating together.

There was a festive feel throughout the morning, with refreshments, doggie bags, raffle prizes and breakfast muffins at the finish line.

The Humane Society brought dogs for adoption and for the public to walk. One of these dogs, Mila, found her “furever” home at the event.
