Saturday, May 30, marked the end of high school for the 95 graduating seniors at Pagosa Springs High School. Come the fall, many of these young adults will be headed to college, which poses questions about how to finance their next chapter.

Guidance Counselor Mark Thompson announced that 112 scholarships have been awarded and reported to his office. More than 60 organizations, including local businesses and clubs, as well as colleges and universities across the state and country comprise the donor group.

Awards vary in size from $250 to $76,000 and one full-ride scholarship. Many awards are renewable, contingent upon meeting certain standards. Additionally, two laptop computers were awarded.
