The board of directors for the Pagosa Springs Sanitation and General Improvement District (PSSGID) voted last week to accept a modification to the intergovernmental agreement (IGA) it has with the Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District (PAWSD) concerning the new force main sewer pipeline.

Mayor Don Volger pointed out that, according to the agenda for the meeting, the board did have the option to move into an executive session to discuss the matter, since it could include some consultation with legal counsel.

Town Manager Greg Schulte, however, didn’t feel it would be necessary, and even though he did ask Town Clerk April Hessman to get the town’s attorney, Bob Cole, on the speakerphone, the meeting remained open to the public as he began explaining the situation.
