Archuleta County is in good financial shape after the first quarter of the year, according to a May 5 report by Archuleta County Finance Director Larry Walton.
The report is for the period from January to March of this year and was presented to the Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners.
“During the first quarter, most departments spent within their expense budgets and most revenue sources were received as expected, after taking seasonal adjustments into consideration,” the executive summary of Walton’s report states.
Walton broke his presentation down into four basic areas — positive developments, departments that needed adjustments, emerging issues to monitor closely and Finance Department processing improvements.
