Town to participate in Trujillo Road project

Posted

Trujillo Road (County Road 500), from the transfer station/recycling center to the intersection of 8th and Apache streets, should be completely repaved this summer, thanks to a cooperative effort between the Town of Pagosa Springs and Archuleta County.

Town Manager Greg Schulte explained the situation to town council at its meeting last week, and the council agreed to participate in the project.

According to material in the council’s agenda packet, when the county originally hired Davis Engineering to do the survey and design work for its Trujillo Road repaving project, “It was discovered that the town limit boundary was significantly further west than previously thought … Instead of the town limits ending at approximately S. 10th Street and Trujillo Road, it goes further west to what is known as the Putnam Annexation and is approximately another 1,300 linear feet of roadway.”
