obit-warren-2nd-choice-IMGP1023Linda Stockdale Warren, 67, of Pagosa Springs, (formerly of Ocean Grove and Pt. Pleasant, N.J.).

On Sunday, April 5, Linda Warren passed away peacefully as a result of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Linda was born in Newark, N.J., June 1, 1947, raised much of her youth in Ocean Grove, N.J. and lived most of her adult life in Pt. Pleasant with her husband, Ken (Spanky) Warren, and their two sons, Matthew and Gary. After retiring from a long teaching career in the Brick Township High School system, she and Spanky enjoyed their new home in Pagosa Springs, where they have lived since 2000.

Linda is predeceased by her mother, Edith Reed Stockdale, and her father, William Barrington Stockdale, and her daughters, Kimberly and Cynthia. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; sons, Matthew and Gary; brothers, Kerry Duke and Daniel Reed Stockdale; and grandchildren Faith, Elliot, Rheanna and Gabriel; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Linda was a graduate of Neptune High School, N.J., 1965, and Hood College, Fredrick, Md., 1969. She taught French passionately and enjoyed her many trips to Europe with students, family and friends. She was active at St. James Episcopal Church, Bradley Beach, N.J., St. Mary’s by the Sea Episcopal Church, Pt. Pleasant Beach, N.J., and St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, Pagosa Springs. Linda was an extremely good-hearted woman and her strength, kindness and generosity touched many people through her teaching, church ministry and personal life and she will be remembered fondly by many.
