Pagosa schools receive $114,700 in grants from marijuana tax revenue

The legalization of pot in Colorado and states across the country has created a firestorm of conversation as the topic and its ramifications continue to evolve. Locally, Archuleta School District (ASD) received two grants for the 2014-2015 school year from the state of Colorado and the marijuana tax revenue, totaling $114,700.

In a recent interview, Sandy Lane, ASD health and wellness coordinator, explained how the grants are helping students. Lane’s diligence and creativity with the grant proposals resulted in the windfall.
