Town council to discuss marijuana locations tomorrow

Marijuana businesses within the town limits of Pagosa Springs, and in particular the issue of zoning and possible locations, continued to be a topic of discussion at last week’s town council meeting.

On March 13, town council conducted a special meeting to consider potential allowable areas within town for marijuana establishments and decided that there should be a 1,000-foot buffer zone around all schools, daycares and drug or alcohol treatment facilities.

The council then decided to table discussions concerning parks, churches and residential areas until the March 19 meeting, when staff was asked to present additional maps showing a variety of buffer zone distances
