Special to The PREVIEW

Pagosa Springs resident, world sailor and renowned storyteller John Barry III will be presenting slides and telling epic sea stories of his and his Pagosa and Durango based crew’s sailing voyage around the world.

The sea story session will be held at The Hub Bike Shop, located in front of City Market, at 6 p.m. on April 3.

The Colorado-flagged and intrepid yacht “Avalanche” began her voyage from San Francisco and is presently being winter stored and refit in Didim, Turkey. The Pagosa sailors are already one-half of the way around the world and they will resume sailing again in May. Barry and his crew sail for six months and return home to ski for six months every year.
