County, town work to combine tourism efforts

The Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners took a step toward combining the county’s and the town’s tourism efforts earlier this week by voting to allow the board’s chair, Michael Whiting, to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

The MOU, when signed by Whiting and if approved by the town, would create a working agreement between the two entities for the administration of lodgers’ tax revenue, which is for the purpose of promoting tourism.
