The Town of Pagosa Springs recently decided to change banks.
Councilor Kathie Lattin, who is also a vice president of First Southwest Bank, recused herself and left the council chambers before Town Manager Greg Schulte introduced the topic.
Schulte explained that the town has used Citizens Bank for several years, but he had recently been directed to investigate and determine if the town could get a better deal.
“I would like to take a minute here to commend April,” Schulte said, with a nod to Town Clerk April Hessman, who was in the corner recording minutes for the meeting. “She spent a lot of time and energy gathering information for this and worked with the different banks.”
