A reader stopped by the office last week to share his concerns about trash overflowing a dumpster at a local business. The trash was spilling all over the parking lot and birds were spreading it to a nearby water source.
We drove by the location and, unfortunately, confirmed the mess.
The same reader came back with photos to document the debris on Monday of this week. We are not printing those photos, but have taken steps to make the business owner aware of the concerns. We wanted to give this proprietor a chance to clean up their act.
The same thing happened last summer when a reader was out walking her dog and came upon debris around a local business. The trash had spread to public property and along a walking trail. She took photos and asked for our help.
