Special to The PREVIEW

The Book Nook at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church is overflowing with books and will be having a public sale on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 9 a.m. to noon. The Book Nook has a large array of gently used books priced for anyone’s budget.

Paperback books are only a quarter and hardbacks are $1. For that price, you can load up on current and classic literature and engross yourself in some wonderful winter reads.

The extra bonus of buying books from the Book Nook is that your purchases are assisting St. Patrick’s food pantry and prayer quilt ministries. Those quarters and dollars add up to feed the hungry and bring comfort to those who are suffering.

The Book Nook project was the brainchild of Bonnie Brooks, who realized that those great novels she enjoyed, the ones that were taking up needed room on her bookshelf, would likely bring pleasure to others. Why not collect them and sell them? The Book Nook helps to promote reading, provides a place to recycle used books, and the proceeds help those in need. What a great scenario — a win/win. As a result, the Book Nook provides hundreds of dollars to these important projects every year.

St. Patrick’s is located at 225 S. Pagosa Blvd. The Book Nook sale will be located in the parish hall library, in the building located on the north side of the main church building. The public is invited to come and stock up on great books priced to sell.
