BoCC names new board chair, divvies up appointments

For the first time in a handful of years, the Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners has a new chairman.

But the change was not made without discussion.

Per state statute, the BoCC must reorganize and determine a board chair and vice chair, and appoint commissioners to serve on other boards.

Clifford Lucero, who was first made board chair in 2010 and has served in the role since, made a motion for Michael Whiting to take the role, with Steve Wadley seconding the motion “for discussion.”
