Special to The PREVIEW

Sophia, Ph.D. — psychotherapist, shaman and author of several books — will do a PowerPoint presentation at Luminosity Talks Thursday, Nov. 13, on her extraordinary experiences during her apprenticeship with shamans in the Andes mountains and Amazon jungles of Peru.

Sophia will discuss details of shamanic healing sessions where the impossible became possible. She estimates that most of the time, unseen invasive influences direct the course of wellness or ill health. Their trespass into the body through thoughts and feelings actually weakens people and makes possible harmful effects that have no medical explanation.

We will explore the enigma that shamans present to a modern-day world and the enormous success they have had in curing diseases often diagnosed to be irreversible. She will also demonstrate how shamanism became applicable to all areas of her life.

Sophia will do a PowerPoint presentation with photos of her experiences, answer questions about challenges on the levels of mind, body and soul, and facilitate a shamanic healing session using the traditional method of drumming and rattles for all attendees.

The talk is scheduled to run from 6:20 to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 at the PLPOA Vista Clubhouse, located at 230 Port Ave. Refreshments and snacks will be served.

Luminosity Talks is a positive-intention group presenting speakers who uplift, inform and inspire on topics of spirituality, natural health, energy and frequency medicine, alternative films, organic gardening and much more.
