The League of Women Voters will host a House District 59 Candidate Forum on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m. at the community center.

The forum will include the two candidates running for the Colorado House District 59 seat, incumbent Michael McLachlan and Republican challenger J. Paul Brown.

The League of Women Voters Forum will begin with introductions and continue with several questions for each candidate gathered by the league on a variety of state and local issues of interest. Following this, the floor will be open to written questions from the audience, sorted and compiled by the league at that time.

The league is a non-partisan organization that neither supports nor opposes any candidate or political party. The league will take positions on issues only after in-depth study to provide voters with that analysis. Because of this style of analysis, the league enjoys a reputation in the community for providing voters with reliable, balanced information.

Local league membership is $15 and all citizens, regardless of gender, are encouraged to join and get involved. For more information on the LWV and its mission, visit our website at http://lwvac.org/league.html.
