Special to The PREVIEW

The Mountain View Homemakers Club will meet Thursday, Sept. 11, at 11:30 a.m. to visit and get lunch set up at the CSU Extension building at the fairgrounds. Following the covered dish luncheon at noon, Dot Kirkham will present a program about genealogy.

All women are invited to attend; visitors are welcome, but not expected to bring a covered dish.

Following the presentation, there will be a short business meeting and a chance to get to know the members.

The homemakers organization is a monthly gathering of women who are interested in making the lives of their families and their community more livable. There are no dues or membership requirements. When a person attends the second meeting, they are automatically a member.

All meetings include lunch and either speakers or a hands-on community project. Mountain View Homemakers holds one auction fundraiser every summer and sponsors the Holiday Bazaar on the first Saturday of November. These two efforts allow them to help support numerous local nonprofit organizations with a check at Thanksgiving or Christmas.
