Kids can learn to fish and learn all about fossils this weekend at Navajo State Park.
At 9 a.m. Saturday, kids and their families will learn the basics of fishing, including casting, lures, bait, fishing ethics and the role angling plays in the management of Colorado’s fisheries. All fishing equipment will be provided, but people are also encouraged to bring their own. Participants should bring water, snacks, bug spray and appropriate clothing. The clinic will take place at the Windsurf Beach.
From 9-10:30 a.m. on Sunday, kids can learn all about fossils. This will be a hands-on activity where kids can draw dinosaurs and paint castings of actual fossils. Kids will also receive a free fossil coloring book.
The activities are free. Entry to the park is $7, or $70 for an annual pass.
