Another round of rain is heading into the area, causing the National Weather Service to issue a short-term forecast, flash flood warning and hazardous weather outlook.

According to a short-term forecast released at 1:49 p.m. Wednesday, “Expect another round of moderate to heavy rain mixed with small hail. Occasional lightning and wind gusts to 40 mph are also possible.”

This forecast applies to Pagosa Springs and the Chimney Rock area.

That forecast came paired with a flash flood warning that was issued at 2:08 p.m. That warning, which states to avoid flood areas, is in effect until 5 p.m. today.

Area personnel are responding to several reports of fires at this time. See more in tomorrow’s Pagosa Springs SUN.
