Traffic in Pagosa Country picks up during the summer, on road and off, increasing both the chance of accidents and the need for drivers to be aware and practice safe driving techniques, whether to avoid accidents or to allow emergency responders to reach accidents that have already taken place.
Over the week leading up to the Fourth of July, several accidents were reported, from fender-benders up to accidents in which there were serious injuries. Three of those accidents are listed below, with information provided by Colorado State Patrol Master Trooper Doug Wiersma.
