A summation of the final snowpack numbers for the season was presented by Joe Crabb with the Colorado Division of Water Resources (DWR) to the San Juan Water Conservancy District (SJWCD) Board Monday night.
The snowpack readings, taken May 1, put the state at 102 percent of average, and the region including the San Juan River at 72 percent of average. Most SNOTEL sites are no longer providing snowpack data readings as snow surrounding the monitors continues to melt away. (SNOTEL is a data collection program comprised of sensors placed in key watershed and snowpack locations.)
