The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Archuleta County will be held tomorrow, Friday, June 20, at Golden Peaks Stadium on the grounds of Pagosa Springs High School. The following is the schedule of events.

Friday afternoon and evening

4:30 p.m. — Registration begins. (Even if you have not registered as a survivor or caregiver, please be sure to come and sign in anyway. If you haven’t registered for a shirt, wear an old one from a previous year.)

4:30-6 p.m. — Dunk tank is open.

6 p.m. — Opening ceremonies,

6:30 p.m. — Survivor/caregiver lap.

6:45 p.m. — Team lap.

7 p.m. — Survivor reception.

8 p.m. — Luminaria sales and silent auction ends. (Luminaria may be purchased for $10 at the registration table.)

8:30 p.m. — Announcement of winners in the silent auction. Entertainment begins.

The silent auction has many beautiful donations from the community — art, gift certificates, slightly used clothing — and 50 Shades of Purses.

10 p.m. — Luminaria ceremony.

11 p.m. — “Bank Hour.”

Midnight — Campsite judging, overnight games and contests.

Sunday morning

5:30 a.m. — Second “Bank Hour.”

7 a.m. — Breakfast.

7:30 a.m. — Closing ceremonies and awards.

8 a.m. — Cleanup.

Relay is not merely a fundraising event. It is a time to come together with your fellow survivors and caregivers to celebrate our successes, to remember those we have lost and to commit ourselves to continue to fight back against cancer.

Won’t you take a little time to join us on Friday evening?
