The recently formed Pagosa Compost committee has set up a successful composting operation behind the county Extension building. They began with food scrap donations from the committee members and have expanded to include local restaurants. The hope is that, eventually, all local restaurants may join in this project.
The finished product will be available for use by local non-profit groups.
Volunteers are needed for scheduled pickups at the restaurants, with delivery to the composting site. Anyone able to help should call Cedar McGrath at 759-2406.
