On June 26 at 2 p.m., the San Juan Basin Health Department’s Board of Health will hold a public hearing to consider revisions to on-site wastewater treatment system (OWTS, also commonly referred to as septic systems) regulations and the associated fee schedule.
The revisions stem from the On-site Wastewater Treatment Systems Act, which was approved at the state level in 2012. Local OWTS regulations become effective 45 days after they are adopted contingent on final approval by the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment (CDPHE).
