Anissa Lucero is the recipient of the Mike Valdez Memorial Scholarship this year. This year’s scholarship is worth $2,500.This scholarship was set up in memory of Michael Valdez, who passed away suddenly in November 2006 at the age of 21. He was born and raised in Pagosa Springs, and was a graduate of Pagosa Springs High School and an employee of Holy Cross Energy in Glenwood Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Valdez set up this scholarship with the intention to encourage further educational development in the students of Pagosa Springs High School. This was important to Mike.
This year’s annual memorial bowshoot will be held July 19.
Anissa is planning on attending Regency Beauty Institute in Mesa, Ariz. Congratulations and best wishes to Anissa Lucero.
