Fourteen students participated in the annual Pagosa Springs Elementary School chess tournament on Friday, May 9.

Everyone involved played well and received a certificate for their efforts. They also received a chess set donated by Greg McCarty to encourage them to continue to play and improve their game.

Three students ended the day with an equal number of wins. They advanced to the playoff held Tuesday, May 13.
