Obituary-Dorothy Maxine O’Harra

obit-O'HarraDorothy Maxine O’Harra, 90, of Pagosa Springs, passed away on May 15. She was born to Lee and Ruth Caldwell on Nov. 23, 1923, in Logansport, Ind. Dorothy graduated from Logansport High School in 1941 and was married to Robert O’Harra on Jan. 7, 1945. She worked as a long-distance operator for GTE for 40 years and served as an overseas operator during the war years. Her husband passed away in 1980 while they lived in Lafayette, Ind. She moved to Pagosa Springs in 1995.

Dorothy was an accomplished piano player for most of her life and played for various churches and organizations, most recently for the Pagosa Springs Senior Center. She also taught piano to young children. Dorothy was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the Archuleta County Senior Center.

Dorothy is survived by her two children, Sherry Meyer, of Pagosa Springs, and Danny Shawn O’Harra, of Greenville, S.C. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Deborah Hainer, of Pagosa Springs, and her great-grandson, Jacob Hainer.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 56 Meadows Drive, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147.
