Special to The PREVIEW

On May 8 at 11:30 a.m., the Mountain View Homemakers will meet at the Extension building on the fairgrounds for a covered dish lunch and then a program called “I’m a Little Teapot.” All area women are invited to come and visitors are not expected to bring food. Once again, the program will include the sharing of stories.

Members and guests are asked to bring a teapot or teacup that may have some history, even if the history is a short one. Those who bring a teapot or cup will have a chance to share a short explanation of where the item came from, how long it has been in the family if it has been handed down, and/or how they came to have the item. Even those who do not have an item to bring should enjoy the stories.

Mountain View Homemakers is a monthly gathering of women who are interested in making the lives of their families and their community more livable. The meetings include lunch and either enlightening speakers, a sharing session or a hands-on community project.

One auction fundraiser every summer and sponsoring the Holiday Bazaar on the first Saturday of November each year results in contributions to numerous local nonprofit efforts. There are no dues or membership requirements and every interested woman will be welcomed.
