Special to The PREVIEW

Join us for the last recipe contest for The Taste of Pagosa Cookbook on Friday, May 2, at The Quality Resort’s Ponderosa Room.

There is no entry fee for our contest and at this event we will be judging entrees, sides and casseroles.

Entries need to be delivered between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. to the Ponderosa Room. Please submit and bring with your dish two typed copies of your recipe. You may enter as many categories as you would like. If you will be needing to plug in a slow cooker or need electricity for your dish, please call Tari Woods at 731-8877.

Our celebrity judge for this event will be our new mayor, Don Volger. The fun begins at 6 p.m. and tickets are sold at the door for $20 and children under 12 are $8.

We are pleased to report that all of our sponsorships for the cookbook have been sold and we will go to press mid-May, with copies available for sale sometime in June. Now that we have acquired our outdoor rink, two Zambonis and hockey uniforms we will be ready for an ice surface in the late fall. We will now be concentrating our efforts in the purchase of our land and our building fund.

Our entertainer for the evening will be Rob Webster — a multifaceted musician from the suburbs of northwest Chicago. He now resides in the Four Corners area and will be performing on acoustic guitar. Come join in on the great food and fun.
