obit---Graham-J.D.Longtime Pagosa resident J.D. Graham died April 12 as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. John Duncan Graham was born April 12, 1949, in La Junta, Colo., to Duane and Edith Graham.  He was the oldest of nine children.

J.D. lived a full life. He was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, cited as a hero by the U.S. Navy.  He served Archuleta County as deputy and investigator, was active in Search and Rescue, served as a Colorado Mounted Ranger and later worked on Wolf Creek Pass for CDOT. For the last 15 years of his life, J.D. was owner/operator of Wolf Creek Trucking with his wife, Judy.

J.D. is survived by his wife, Judy Graham, of Pagosa Springs, children and their spouses: Duane and Summer Graham, of Aztec, N.M.; Amy and Bill Mathews, of Placerville, Calif.; Carrie and Tom Emens, of Memphis, Tenn.; and Steve and Ohea Graham, of Pagosa Springs; mother, Edith Graham of Fort Collins, 11 grandchildren, seven siblings, numerous nieces and nephews and many other friends and family.

A loving husband and father, and a great friend, J.D. will be missed by many. Services will be held Saturday, April 19, at 2 p.m. at the CSU Extension Building, 344 U.S. 84.
