This year marks the 30th year of Big Brothers Big Sisters serving children in southwest Colorado. In that time, we have served over 3,000 children — positively impacting their lives for the better forever — and making a difference in our community.

We are celebrating our anniversary at our 30th annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake. Join in the fun at our ’80s-themed party during our day of bowling at Sky Ute Casino’s Rolling Thunder Lanes on Saturday, April 12.

The day of bowling is a fun day for those wonderful people who have helped our organization raise money to help the children here in Archuleta County. Bowling teams of four people collect at least $75 worth of pledges for a team total of at least $300. Then they come to Ignacio to celebrate our 30th anniversary and enjoy an hour of bowling. Costumes are encouraged and we will have a disc jockey playing ’80s music all day.

There will be prizes for the best costume, next strike, or whatever we feel like.

To participate, please register your bowling team at bbig.org. Fun names are typical — like “Outta da Gutter,” “Bowling Stones” or “I can’t believe it’s not gutter.”

After registering your team, please collect pledges of at least $300, set a time to bowl between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., and you will bowl for one hour.

This is a really playful and fun event to benefit the children of Archuleta County. All of the proceeds raised will remain here in Pagosa.

Thank you for helping the children of Pagosa Country.
