Have you heard the term Common Core and wondered what it means and how it affects our schools and our community?

Common Core is the topic of the Archuleta County Republican Women’s meeting Tuesday, March 11, at noon at Nello’s Bistro. All are invited to hear Anita Stapleton discuss this controversial topic.

Anita Stapleton lives in Pueblo, is the mother of three children and is a hospice nurse. The superintendent of her school district stated he did not know what Common Core was and asked her to research it to report to the school board. She was not a politician or educator, but a concerned citizen. Once she discovered what Common Core was all about, she started educating communities throughout Colorado and the reasons why Common Core should be repealed. As a citizen and a mother, she wants to reclaim American education to the states and local districts where it belongs.

If you would like to learn more about Common Core and ask your questions, please attend the ACRW meeting.

ACRW meetings are open to the public. Lunch is $10. For more information, please contact Marilyn Harris at 731-6336.
