Schools deal with safety issues

With the one-year anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shooting occurring this week, school safety continues to be a major topic of conversation at the Archuleta School District’s Board of Education meetings, the most recent of which took place Tuesday night.

One item in interim superintendent Linda Reed’s report concerned a press release from Kathleen Morris from the San Juan Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES). The press release described a grant recently awarded by the Department of Homeland Security.
