The Pagosa Pathfinders youth organization will hold an informational meeting for 2014 activities in the Extension building at the fairgrounds at 1 p.m. on Dec. 15.
The Pathfinders are a local organization open to youth ages 8-18.
Participants in the Pathfinders learn and compete in the Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC), to include the following eight disciplines: shotgun shooting, rifle shooting (.22LR), muzzleloader, archery, orienteering, wildlife ID, hunter safety and hunter responsibility.
The organization is funded through grants from the Friends of the NRA and Safari Club International.
This informational meeting is for everyone interested, including parents, as the organization encourages parental involvement.
