Special to The PREVIEW

Organizers of a plan to build a multipurpose ice/roller pavilion will host several upcoming fund-raising events.

The first phase in the group’s business plan is the ice/roller surface and members are excited about upcoming fund-raisers to support the goal.

Friends of the Pagosa Pavilion are going to create a cookbook, “A Taste of Pagosa.” A dessert tasting will be held Dec. 6 at the Quality Resort from 2-4:30 p.m. The tasting will be judged by local chefs and a local celebrity. If you are interested in bringing your best dessert to tempt everyone, call one of the numbers listed below for information on how to enter the contest.

The cookbook will be created in a process involving five fund-raisers. At each fund-raiser, one chapter of the cookbook will be created with a recipe competition. The chapters include Desserts; Appetizers and Beverages; Soups, Salads and Breads; Breakfast and Brunch; and Entrees, Casseroles and Sides. All recipes will be included in the cookbook with the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal recipes being given special recognition.

If you have a special recipe you would like to contribute, it will be put in the cookbook, even if you do not want to enter the contest.

Attend the fund-raiser and just enjoy the food, bring something you made to share, buy a cookbook, or enter an item in the competition. Prizes will be awarded at each fund-raiser by a panel of judges. There will also be silent auction held featuring many surprises.

Look for future tastings at a Jan. 17 fund-raiser, the theme of which will be Appetizers and Beverages.
