Susi Fisher Cochran passed away Oct. 3, 2013, at her home in Pagosa Springs. She was 69 years old. She was born Sept. 27, 1944, in Ontario, Calif. Later, while growing up, she lived in Cheyenne, Wyo., Palo Alto, Calif., St. Paul, Minn., Richfield, Minn. and Prospect Heights, Ill. She studied psychology at Southern Illinois University and became an accountant.

Susi married in 1965 and gave birth to a son, Jimmy, who died as a 20-month-old in 1967. Later, she was divorced and moved to Chicago, and then to Aspen, where she was involved in the Race to Erase MS fund-raiser, eventually settling in Pagosa Springs. Her private accounting practice flourished and she enjoyed getting very involved in the senior center here in town, helping to run the Oktoberfest for a number of years.

Later, she became involved with the Whispering Pines Townhome Association board, where she was chairman of the financial committee.

Susi is preceded in death by her son, James Michael Cochran. She is survived by one brother, Larry Fisher (Susie) of Pagosa Springs, and one sister, Carol Petersons (Val) of Warrenville, Ill. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews: Lita Petersons of Warrenville, Ill.; Bruno Petersons (Jolyn) of Pagosa Springs; Casey Fisher (Sarah) of Grand Junction, Colo.; Trae Fisher of Omaha, Neb.; Erik Petersons (Jane) of Philadelphia, Pa.; Brittany Bedtke (Robert) of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; Aleksa Lear (Glenn) of Borden, Ontario, Canada; and David Petersons of Warrenville, Ill. She is also survived by three grand nieces and a grand nephew.

A memorial fund has been set up for Our Savior Lutheran School of Pagosa Springs, 56 Meadows Drive, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147.
