The vacancies are piling up within the Archuleta County government in the throes of budget season, and a new organizational chart is now in place.
Over the past two months, several positions have turned up vacant for the commissioners to consider filling.
At Tuesday’s regular meeting of the BoCC, Mitzi Bowman, human resources administrator, asked for permission to hire a new planning manager.
Cindy Schultz was the county’s previous planning manager. Board of County Commissioners Chair Clifford Lucero declined to discuss her departure, citing personnel issues.
At the same meeting, the board gave Bowman consensus to move forward with recruitment materials with the Mercer Group to hire a new county administrator.
