Positive local sales tax results for July

Amidst the rescue and cleanup efforts following last week’s devastating floods along the Front Range, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper reiterated a message he had made earlier this summer during the wildfire season — Colorado is still open for business and tourists will find most of the state unaffected by the natural disasters.

This message, as well as ongoing local promotional efforts, seemed to have had some positive effect, at least for the month of July, according to the most recent local sales tax figures.
