ACVAP seeks senior for clerical assistant position

The Archuleta County Victims Assistance Program is currently seeking one senior citizen to work for the organization and train as a clerical assistant as part of the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), which trains seniors for gainful employment opportunities.

The participant will be paid to train through funding from the U.S. Department of Labor.

SCSEP is an organization that is committed to improving the quality of life for low income, financially eligible seniors by assigning them to temporary, subsidized training and assisting them in their search for unsubsidized jobs in their community. SCSEP is the steward of federal funds appropriated to recruit, train, and place eligible seniors in subsidized employment.

Workers must be at least 55 years of age, not currently employed, and be on a limited income in order to participate. Wages are provided by SER Jobs For Progress, a 501(c)(3) organization funded by the United States Department of Labor.
