Small fire in the area of Squaw Canyon now controlled

A fire was reported in the area of Squaw Canyon yesterday evening. This is in the area of Echo Canyon Reservoir. Firefighters from the Sheriff's Office, Pagosa Fire, and San Juan National Forest helped to locate and control the fire. The fire was started by lightning and was contained at one-half acre.
Another small fire is visible from the Hatcher Lake area on the east side of Chris Mountain. Forest Service firefighters have now contained this fire as well.
