Obituary-Jesse James Stoddard

A memorial and remembrance service was held Saturday, June 22, at St. Andrew’s Golf Course near Westcliff, Colo., for former Pagosa Springs resident Jesse James Stoddard, late of New Milford, Conn.

Mr. Stoddard died unexpectedly in New Milford on June 8, 2013. He was 33.

Mr. Stoddard was born June 21, 1979, in Casper, Wyo., to Jim and Lori Stoddard.

As a youngster, he and his family moved to the Westcliff area, and Mr. Stoddard attended Custer County School from kindergarten through high school. The family later moved to Pagosa Springs, and later to Galveston, Texas.

For the past four and a half years, Mr. Stoddard had lived in New Milford where he and his brothers were in the construction industry, specializing in high-end home restoration work.

Mr. Stoddard was an avid fisherman, and was known as an artist, philosopher and humorist.

He is survived by his father, Jim Stoddard, of Hickman, Nev.; his mother, Lori Stoddard, Devin Stoddard and Joseph “Joey” Stoddard, all of New Milford.

The celebration of life, remembrance service and a birthday celebration was held June 22, at the St. Andrew’s Golf Course, the day after what would have been his 34th birthday.
