Pagosa area residents and visitors alarmed by a pall of smoke moving from the north over the area this afternoon are reminded that additional activity on the Papoose Fire was predicted today.
According to officials at the West Zone Information Center, a shift in wind direction is bringing the smoke from the Papoose Fire to Pagosa Country. Those officials expect similar wind patterns during the next three days, with a possible shift in wind direction back to the north Saturday as a monsoonal flow is expected to dominate the weather pattern.
