Elections panel taking public comment on statewide voting system

Posted

The Uniform Voting System Public Participation Panel appointed by Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler is asking the public to engage in the process of selecting a new voting system for the State of Colorado. The Public Participation Panel will accept oral and written comments at its 1  p.m. meeting in Denver on June 26. For clarity in tracking remarks, the panel encourages written copies of prepared remarks, though they not required.

The Panel will meet in the Blue Spruce Meeting Room on the second floor of the Secretary of State’s Office at 1700 Broadway in Denver.

Members of the public may address the Panel on any issue related to acquisition of a voting system that will be used by all counties and voters in Colorado.

Over the next few months, the Panel will hold additional meetings outside the Denver area. Tentative locations include Pueblo, Grand Junction and Fort Collins. Locations, dates and times will be made available as facility arrangements are confirmed.

Questions about testifying or submitting written testimony may be addressed to the Panel via email at publicparticipationpanel@sos.state.co.us.
