Posted

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved daughter, mother and grandmother, Connie Lee (Jacobson) Kimball, 62, of Bloomfield, N.M. She passed away at the family home on June 15, 2013.

Connie was born Nov. 13, 1950, in Sydney, Neb. She graduated from Pagosa Springs High School in Colorado as valedictorian of her class. She continued her education at both Fort Lewis College and San Juan College where she was accepted into national honor societies.

Connie was actively involved in making the community a better place. She has been a dedicated volunteer for the local soccer leagues for over 30 years. She was one of the community members of BARC who were instrumental in securing and developing the present Bloomfield soccer fields. She also served on the San Juan County Fair Board, volunteered in the Bloomfield Baseball League, and raised funds for Childhaven through the More the Merrier Bike ride and other avenues. Connie was the leader of the Stitches and Britches 4-H Club for many years. She also participated in Leadership San Juan and Jr. Civitans. Connie had a big heart and would always happily adopt animals who came her way. She enjoyed taking flying lessons as a young adult. Most of all, Connie enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren playing soccer and baseball, helping them with 4-H projects, and attending their concerts and programs. Her support and dedication will be greatly missed. Every member of Connie’s family was very important to her. Her children have many memories of family trips and special holiday gatherings. She excelled at knitting and crocheting beautiful items for her family. Each grandchild has a beautiful baby blanket to treasure. Connie was also an avid flower and vegetable gardener.

Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Peterson; by her sister, Linda Jacobson and her sister Rachelle Nyfeler. She is survived by Robert Jay Kimball, by her children and grandchildren: Michelle Rhames, Brandon, Cameron, and Austin; John Kimball; Robin and Jeremiah Harlin, Triston and Dalton; Ronessa and Michael Brown, Kaitlyn and Megan; Bobby and Tiffany Kimball, Paige and Aliya; Tara Brown, Matthew and Eli; Jeff Brown; Rosie Aragon and Curtis Rhames.
