obit-guisingerCharles M. (Chuck) Guisinger, born April 2, 1948; died June 16, 2013, Father’s Day.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cathy; daughters Cate Guisinger and Kelly Heyns; son-in-law Leon Heyns; grandchildren Ashley and Luke Heyns; and his sister, Rosemary Leydon of Ohio.

Chuck came to Pagosa Springs from Akron, Ohio, in October 1993, because he loved the mountains. He was an avid four-wheeler and was passionate about the history of Pagosa Country. He volunteered at the Catholic Church, helping Father John and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired mechanic and loved helping people with their car problems. Chuck loved being a family man and considered himself very blessed. He’ll be greatly missed and will hold a special place in our hearts forever.

The rosary was said on Wednesday, June 19, and the Mass of Christian burial is being held today, Thursday, June 20, at John Paul II Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with an open casket viewing from 9 to 10 a.m.
