Pagosa Country residents and business owners are reminded that the area population is about to swell by more than 2,000 people, as Ride the Rockies tour participants and support crews arrive in town.

Cyclists should begin to roll into town this morning and have a full day and evening to enjoy Pagosa.

Many of the riders and support personnel will camp at Pagosa Springs High School, but many will take rooms at local lodging establishments. Tour participants will also avail themselves of the offerings at local restaurants.

Festivities at Town Park begin at noon.

Live music begins around 3 p.m. with music by Bob Hemenger..  At about 4:45 p.m., Brooks-I will entertain the gathering crowds.  At 6:30 p.m. the Black Lillies will perform, thanks to the assistance of FolkWest, which helped secure their stayover from the Folk ’N Bluegrass Festival weekend. There will be food and drink vendors at the event.

All entertainment during the Party in the Park is free.

Riders and staff depart Wednesday morning for a trek across Wolf Creek Pass.
