With little chance of moisture in the forecast and temperatures rising, fire danger continues to be high in Pagosa Country.

According to the fire weather forecast for the area, breezy winds are expected to bring southwest Colorado to near critical fire weather conditions during the warmest part of the day today (Monday).

Winds gusting as high as 25 mph are expected Monday afternoon, with southwest winds blowing 5-15 mph.

Temperatures Monday are expected to reach near 80 degrees, with that trend continuing through the week at 81 degrees for Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds are also expected to continue in the coming days, with light and variable winds Tuesday morning becoming 10 to 15 mph winds from the west southwest in the afternoon.

On Wednesday, 5 to 10 mph winds are expected in the morning.
